Hünnebeck Formwork Refurbishment and Repair

KNAAK easy-formwork refurbishes and reconditions used Hünnebeck formwork systems in our own workshop in Leipzig, Germany. We have provided professional formwork refurbishment services since 2002 and process several thousand square metres of formwork from various manufacturers and systems every year.

Our Hünnebeck formwork refurbishment services range from thorough cleaning and repair of existing formwork plywood to complete reconditioning with plywood replacement, straightening, welding and extensive repairs to formwork frames.

Hünnebeck Reconditioning Level I: Cleaning and Repair of Existing Plywood

Not every Hünnebeck formwork element requires new plywood. If the existing formwork plywood is still suitable for further use, thorough cleaning and professional local repairs may be the more economical solution.

The formwork frame and existing plywood are cleaned and their condition is assessed. Suitable drill holes and smaller damaged areas can be professionally repaired using repair patches.

The damaged area is precisely routed and a suitable repair patch is inserted flush with the plywood surface. This allows serviceable formwork plywood to remain in use when complete replacement is not necessary.

Hünnebeck Reconditioning Level II: Complete Refurbishment with Plywood Replacement

If the existing plywood is worn or too severely damaged for a sensible repair, we carry out complete reconditioning of the Hünnebeck formwork element including plywood replacement.

We do more than simply replace the old sheet. The formwork frame is thoroughly cleaned and inspected and, depending on its condition, straightened, welded and repaired before the new plywood is installed.

1. Hünnebeck Formwork Cleaning at 1,000 Bar

The formwork elements are thoroughly cleaned in our own washing facility in Leipzig using high-pressure cleaning equipment operating at 1,000 bar.

Our large facility has been specifically designed for formwork cleaning and allows us to process formwork throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions. Concrete residue and heavy contamination are removed and the Hünnebeck formwork elements are prepared for further refurbishment.

2. Machine-Assisted Removal of the Old Plywood

The worn formwork plywood is mechanically pressed out of the frame. Remaining fasteners, joint sealing material and other residues are subsequently removed.

3. Cleaning Plywood Supports and Functional Areas

After removal of the old plywood, the Hünnebeck formwork element undergoes further targeted cleaning.

Particular attention is paid to the plywood support surfaces, contact and functional areas and tie-rod sleeves. Once the frame has been cleaned and stripped of its plywood, our technicians can accurately assess its actual condition.

4. Inspection of the Hünnebeck Formwork Frame

The formwork frame is inspected for damage, wear and deformation. Particular attention is paid to frame geometry and the functional edges.

Corners, cross profiles, longitudinal profiles, plywood support surfaces, tie-rod sleeves, connections and welds are also checked. After refurbishment, the frame must once again be straight, dimensionally accurate and fully functional within the respective Hünnebeck formwork system.

5. Straightening, Welding and Frame Repairs

Necessary straightening and welding work is carried out in our own workshop. Deformed formwork frames are straightened. Damaged corners, broken welds and cracked connections are professionally repaired.

Functional profiles, tie-rod sleeves and plywood support surfaces can also be repaired.

Our capabilities go beyond minor repairs. Where technically necessary and economically reasonable, damaged components can be completely replaced. Depending on the Hünnebeck formwork system, these may include:

frame profiles
cross profiles
complete longitudinal profiles
tie-rod sleeves
other structural components of the formwork frame

Correct frame geometry is essential. The refurbished Hünnebeck formwork element should once again be dimensionally accurate and fully functional within its respective system.
